At Dawson, athletics play a vital role in helping middle school students discover and develop their athletic talents. Following a curriculum-based approach, all co-curricular activities take place during the school day, with athletic competitions held after school from Monday to Friday.

Students are fortunate to train in some of the finest facilities in Boulder County, supported by a full-time athletic trainer. These include four soccer fields, two lacrosse fields, two baseball diamonds, two gymnasiums, six tennis courts, cyclocross and cross-country courses, and a fully equipped weight room.

These top-tier facilities offer students the chance to explore various sports, uncover their strengths, and nurture their abilities in a supportive environment. Additionally, students involved in non-athletic co-curriculars have access to exceptional indoor facilities, including a state-of-the-art maker space, a dedicated dance room, a theater, and a new innovation center, ensuring that all students can pursue their interests and talents to the fullest.
