Day 3
Today, March 19, 2024 we started off the morning at 8 a.m. to a beautiful sunrise. On our way to Mammoth Hot Springs, we scoped some buffalo, bighorn sheep, elk, pronghorn, and many species of birds. As we approached the hot springs, we saw the towering steam rising from the springs. We had a vigorous walk up to the hot springs, but the views made it all worthwhile. On our way back, we took a moment of silence to decompress and enjoy nature. After hiking through the beautiful snowy woods, we stopped at the Yellowstone Visitor Center and Museum for lunch. We took a deeper dive into the history and wildlife of the park. Throughout the week, we are working on earning our Junior Ranger badges. After lunch, we took a snowy hike to a waterfall and listened to many stories from our amazing guide, Sam. We got to see bison up close as they strolled past us on the road, and we ended our day playing fun games and eating grilled cheese and tomato soup. Highlights of the day included: plummeting waterfalls, colorful thermal features, diving into ecology, game night, and very snowy, muddy boots at the end of our day.

We look forward to the rest of the week!
