Day 3
Today, we spent the morning at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, then visited the Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral Museum. We then had dinner at El Charro, the nation's oldest Mexican restaurant, which is still operated by the same family.

Here are some thoughts from the students today:

Darren - I liked all the jewelry I saw in the mineral museum.

Jadon - I saw a rug that was worth 1 million, and it had a lot of gems and minerals, and it was lit. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Julian, I liked the meteorite skull I saw in the mineral and gem museum, specifically in the center right quadrant of the treasury room.

Shelton - One thing I found intriguing is the 42lb tapestry at the Gem exhibit.

Luke - I really enjoyed walking around the Sonora desert ‘museum’ and the secret tunnels along the way.

Andre - I liked the black spiky rock at the beginning of the gem museum.

Ian - Today, I learned about the two types of hibernation based on the season.

Jacob - Today I learned that endothermic animals, like mammals, maintain the same body temperature. To cope with the intensive heat, they release heat buildup and are able to withstand body heat changes.

Emily - I can sum up today in two words: cacti and enchiladas.
